Texas Stars likely to switch to “victory green” after purchase by Dallas

It appears the Texas Stars will be donning “Victory green” in the future after Northland Properties announced its plans to purchase the team from Hicks Cedar Park LLC.

I had a conversation with Dallas president and CEO Jim Lites today about the purchase. In that conversation, the topic of switching to Dallas’ new color scheme came up.

“I think it’s fair to say that’s probably likely to occur,” Lites said. “We would like to get closer from a color perspective … we had maybe the most successful uniform role out in the National Hockey League with victory green. When our game is on in a bar or restaurant, you know it’s the Dallas Stars. We want that to coincide with Texas.”

Dallas adopted the new color schemed before the 2013-14 season. The team also changed it’s logo, while Texas’ logo and colors still reflected Dallas’ old uniform scheme.

Lites wouldn’t say if the switch could or would happen in time for the 2014-15 season.
